Termites

No structural pest causes more damage than termites. Most homeowners have very little knowledge of these troublesome insects, and what it takes to get rid of them.

Subterranean termites are common and typically live below ground in highly organized societies or colonies. A termite colony consists of the termite queen, soldiers and workers. Termite colonies can be enormous. Occasionally, during their random foraging, termites encounter wood associated with buildings. Once a suitable feeding site is found, the workers establish an invisible odor trail to attract other termites to the structure.

Termites, popularly known as White ants are social insects. The silent enemy, termites are posing a potential threat to almost every structure. They attack not only buildings but also woodwork, books, electrical/telecom cables, pipes etc. and cause huge financial loss.

Subterranean termite infestations can go undetected for years. Over time, significant damage can result. The small size, cryptic nature, and tenacious foraging habits of termites also pose a formidable challenge to control efforts.

It is the subterranean termites which pose major risk to structures. The standard method of controlling subterranean termites is to apply Termiticide, to the soil .The major objective is to establish a continuous chemical barrier around and beneath the structure in order to block all potential routes of termite entry.
